This link will take you to the media release generated by the United Nations on International Day of People with Disability, 3rd December 2007, and covers a press conference conducted in New York involving Chris Sullivan, Vice-President of Special Needs Financial Services at Merrill Lynch, and Judy Young, Vice-President of the National Business and Disability Council. Mr Sullivan has a hearing impairment and has worked with Merrill Lynch for over 20 years. He states that "global employers were projecting a shortage of 31 million skilled workers by 2010 and 56 million by 2020". Employing people with disability is a business imperative if organisations are to continue to be successful into the future.
