Global employers predict shortfall of 31 million skilled workers by 2010

This link will take you to the media release generated by the United Nations on International Day of People with Disability, 3rd December 2007, and covers a press conference conducted in New York involving Chris Sullivan, Vice-President of Special Needs Financial Services at Merrill Lynch, and Judy Young, Vice-President of the National Business and Disability Council.

Mr Sullivan has a hearing impairment and has worked with Merrill Lynch for over 20 years.  He states that "global employers were projecting a shortage of 31 million skilled workers by 2010 and 56 million by 2020". 

Employing people with disability is a business imperative if organisations are to continue to be successful into the future.
