AEND has been collaborating with JobAccess for some time. In fact JobAccess has even presented at some of our events, and we refer our members to them on a regular basis. I never expected to actually be a personal user of the JobAccess service. This October I had an accident and sustained some serious injuries as a result. Two weeks in hospital, a week recovering at home and a staged part-time Return to Work plan has luckily meant that I have not been away from the coal face for too long. On my return to the office the AEND team thought that JobAccess might help me get back to work faster and help me with my injuries and we swung into action fast. Amazingly, the JobAccess process was just as fast. Within a week of submitting our application the assessor came and visited us in the AEND office to see what technologies might speed me back to full work and less than a week later the assessors report was written, submitted and approved. Breathtakingly fast, only a tad over two weeks from start to finish. I recommend JobAccess to all of our members who have employees with disabilities, either life long or –like mine – acquired. Their willingness and ability to help is superb, and the assessors have a great knowledge of technologies that can help your team members with disability to work to their full potential.
