| New Disability Studies & Research Centre (DSARC) |
|
Bill Shorten MP, Parliamentary Secretary for Disabilities and Children’s Services, has announced the establishment of the Disability Studies and Research Centre (DSARC) at UNSW, which aims to bring together researchers and those in the disability community to bring a unique perspective and contribute to policy development. DSARC’s development stems from the five-year record of research success established by the Disability Studies and Research Institute (DSaRI), a collaborative community/university research centre. During the year, DSARC will host forums, seminars and conferences to promote critical disability studies and stimulate discussion about disability policy and research issues. DSARC is an initiative of the Social Policy Research Centre, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Law at the University of New South Wales.
